Leask Marine Supports Aquamarine's Oyster 800 Product Improvement Programme

Leask Marine are proud to support Aquamarine Power, developers of the ground breaking Oyster 800 wave machine.

The Oyster 800 is an 800 Kw unit and is the first wave energy test machine to survive three consecutive winters at sea at the European Marine Energy Centre here in Orkney. This involved over 20,000 hours of operation and the unit took the worst that Orkney's storms could throw at it and kept on operating.

Leask Marine are currently supporting a product improvement programme and efforts to streamline repair and maintenance procedures on the unit to reduce expense and down time. This efficiency drive has seen the time taken to conduct significant repairs and component/module replacements reduced dramatically. Leask marine provided the necessary logistic support as well as advice on engineering operations in a demanding marine environment.
