Leask Marine successfully retrieve Nautricity’s tidal turbine

Leask Marine successfully retrieve Nautricitys tidal turbineLeask Marine’s operations team onboard the company’s vessel the MV C-Odyssey recently recovered Scottish tidal energy developer Nautricity’s CoRMaT tidal turbine in the Fall of Warness, at the EMEC tidal test site.

The 500kW device that was deployed in April 2017, and was recovered from the seabed and towed to nearshore Eday where diving operations were performed, and the turbine was towed to Hatston Pier for recovery to land.

CoRMaT is a contra-rotating turbine which uses two closely spaced dissimilar rotors, moving in opposite directions, to drive the rotor and rotating stator sections of an electrical generator.
