The Leask Marine Civil Engineering team working from land and from a mobile marine platform pressure cleaned, shot blasted and painted the whole linkspan. In addition, new steel handrails were fabricated and fitted to the linkspan, all welds were MPI tested, steel was galvanised prior to fitting, and new power boxes were fabricated and fitted. The blast kit used an extraction system fitted to contain all used blast and debris in a storage vessel to reduce spillage and recycle material quickly.
