Leask Marine Achieves Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) accreditation

SSIP LogoLeask Marine Ltd, the International Marine Contractors based in Kirkwall, Orkney have achieved the recognised ISO 18001:2007 SSIP Occupational Health & Safety management systems accreditation standards, for vessel charter, commercial diving and marine construction services.

This independent assessment was conducted by the leading Certification Body, the British Assessment Bureau and demonstrates Leask Marine’s commitment to Occupational Health & Safety performance improvements.

SSIP assessments are all judged on core criteria approved by HSE for a construction business to comply with basic health and safety law. With the new CDM 2015 Regulations, SSIP have adopted the HSE Core Criteria to become part of the SSIP Terms of reference. Leask Marine Ltd has now earned the right to display the coveted SSIP accreditation and forms an additional part of their OHSAS 18001:2007 certification.

Douglas Leask, Managing Director said, “We are delighted to announce that we have achieved British Assessment Bureau SSIP Accreditation. This recognised accreditation puts us on a list of approved buyers throughout the construction industry, and provides the confidence that we are competent in providing the very best services in Health & Safety management practices.”
