Leask Marine, a leading force in the marine services and renewable energy support sector, is seeking a technically strong and delivery-focused Senior Project Engineer to join our fast-paced and dynamic team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a background in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering and will take ownership of engineering work packages across a range of marine and offshore projects.
You will be responsible for leading technical scopes from concept through to completion, developing methodologies and risk assessments, defining analytical approaches, managing project interfaces, and ensuring deliverables are produced to a high standard and in line with programme and budget requirements.
Technical Responsibilities
- Develop project-specific engineering methodologies and calculation strategies
- Define load cases, assumptions, design criteria, and acceptance limits
- Perform and lead static and dynamic analyses using OrcaFlex (e.g. moorings, subsea systems, cables, vessel motions, offshore structures)
- Perform and lead vessel performance analyses, including:
- Stability calculations
- Weight estimates and control
- Hydrodynamic and basic structural checks
- Work in line with applicable codes, standards, and class rules
- Prepare technical drawings, reports and client submissions
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring within the engineering team
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years’ relevant experience in marine, offshore, or subsea engineering
- Demonstrable experience developing and executing engineering methodologies
- Strong hands-on experience with analysis software (e.g. Rhino, OrcaFlex, NAPA, Maxsurf, or similar)
- Proven ability to lead technical packages independently
- Experience in client-facing technical roles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
