Leask Marine’s MV C-Horizon Supports Construction of Scheldt Tunnel
Published on September 9 2025
Leask Marine’s MV C-Horizon is proud to be supporting Jan De Nul in the construction of eight tunnel elements for the Scheldt Tunnel, which will be immersed in a pre-dredged trench in the Scheldt River.
These tunnels run beneath the Albert Canal, linking the future Oosterweel junction with the Ring Road (R1). Together with the junction and the Scheldt Tunnel, the Canal Tunnels form the final connection that will complete the Antwerp Ring.
The C-Horizon is undertaking a range of marine support activities on the project, including plough dredging with her 55-ton A-frame and 12.8m plough dredge system, dust pan dredging, and Anchor Handling Tug operations.
Works commenced in early June and will continue until early 2026.
