Leask Marine's MV C-Horizon completes supports of Construction of Scheldt Tunnel project
Published on January 5 2026

MV C-Horizon has completed its 8-month project for Jan De Nul, on time and on budget, as the last of the eight tunnel elements for the Scheldt Tunnel, which is immersed in a pre-dredged trench in the Scheldt River.
The tunnels run beneath the Albert Canal, linking the future Oosterweel junction with the Ring Road (R1). Together with the junction and the Scheldt Tunnel, the Canal Tunnels form the final connection that will complete the Antwerp Ring.
The C-Horizon undertook a wide range of marine support activities on the project, including plough dredging with her 55-ton A-frame and 12.8m plough dredge system, dust pan dredging, and Anchor Handling Tug operations.
Here is a great video of the operations.
