Leask Marine Ltd complete installation of NLB new beacon at Portain.

The Leask Marine civil construction & engineering team have completed the installation of a new beacon at Portain, in the Sound of Harris for The Northern Lighthouse Board.

The project entailed the installation of a concrete foundation that was cast underwater and the team installed the mast and lighting station onto the concrete plinth.

The project was completed within two weeks and the team worked around challenging weather conditions, and around the local ferry timetable.
