Houton Pier re-construction

Repsol Sinopec Resources UK limited contracted Leask Marine Ltd to demolish and reconstruct their Houton Jetty for supporting their Flotta terminal marine traffic. The Leask Marine team started works in November 2016, and were completed in March 2017.

The Leask Marine team consisted of civil engineering, diving, and vessel crew and co-ordinated operation for the rebuild throughout the winter of 2016-2017. The work-scope consisted of the removal and safe disposal off site of the existing timber piles and wailing, the removal and storage for re-use of edging strips, fenders, and deck furniture. The supply & installation of new greenheart timber piles, new steel-cross members to join the heads of the timber piles, and new steel members to join the widened deck and the deck, and also upgraded the existing lighting.

During this time Leask Marine provided pontoon provision, with the supply of the MV C-Salvor for the safe transfer of personnel during the construction phase. To support this Leask Marine fabricated a gangway system for embarking & disembarking the vessels.
