Leask Marine attain American Bureau of Shipping approved service supplier accreditation

Leask Marine have achieved the internationally recognised “External Specialist Service Supplier” for In-Water Surveys for the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), to support visiting cruise vessels, freight vessels, Mobile Offshore Drilling Units.

After being audited and providing satisfactory practical demonstrations of the services Leask Marine have been recognized by ABS as a Service Provider which ABS surveyor may rely on to make decisions affecting classification or statutory surveys.

Douglas Leask, Managing Director of Leask Marine said on the accreditation “Orkney is one of the UK’s most diverse commercial ports and to offer a ONE STOP SHOP for marine services is important to visiting vessel owners. ABS are one of the world’s leading ship classification organisations, and this accreditation will allow Leask Marine to expand the number of vessels that they can provide in-water services for, as together with our already held accreditation for in-water surveys from Lloyds Register enables Leask Marine to cover most of the world’s maritime classification society’s vessels.”
